COVID-19 Guidelines for Our Nurses
The safety of our healthcare workers is of paramount importance. To keep our employees protected, we have enforced guidelines while at work.
Airborne Virus
As a precaution against the COVID-19 virus, everyone must practice following:
- Wash or sanitize their hands before entering and when leaving a patient’s room
- Wear a fit-tested N-95 or any higher-level respirator before entering a patient’s room
- Removing mask or respirator after exiting the patient’s room and closing the door
- Keep the door to the patient’s room closed at all times
Virus on Surfaces
To avoid infections via contact with virus-laden surfaces, everyone must practice the following:
- Washing and cleaning hands before entering and when leaving the patient’s room
- Putting on gloves before entering a patient’s room
- Discarding gloves before exiting a patient’s room
- Putting on a gown before entering a patient’s room
- Discarding the gown before exiting a patient’s room
- Wearing different gowns and gloves when caring for more than one patient
- Using dedicated or disposable equipment
- Disinfecting reusable equipment before using them on another patient
Other Guidelines
Healthcare providers, staff, and family members must practice the following guidelines to avoid transmitting the COVID-19 virus:
Wash and sanitize hands before entering and when leaving a patient’s room
Make sure that eyes, nose, and mouth are fully covered before entering a patient’s room
Remove face protection before exiting a patient’s room
